Christopher Michael Pratt is an American actor and producer who was born on June 21, 1979. After being seen by actor and director Rae Dawn Chong, Chris Pratt went on to have a prosperous TV career, appearing in shows including Parks and Recreation, The O.C., and Everwood. His role as Andy Dwyer in the NBC series Parks and Recreation brought him fame from 2009 until 2015.

Early Life
On June 21, 1979, Christopher Michael Pratt was born in Virginia, Minnesota. His father was a miner who eventually worked in home remodelling, while his mother was employed at a Safeway grocery. In 2014, Pratt’s father passed away due to multiple sclerosis. His mother comes from Norway. The Pratt family relocated to Lake Stevens, Washington, when Pratt was seven years old.

Rae Dawn Chong, an actor and filmmaker, found Pratt when he was nineteen years old, working as a waiter at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company in Maui. She chose to cast him in her first directing role, Cursed Part 3, a short horror film shot in Los Angeles.
